A delegation from Benue State has foisted its flag at the ongoing one week Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, GITEX, holding in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Governor Ortom approved participation at the event as part of his initiatives to boost the ICT and investment opportunities in the state.
Tagged Team Benue, the delegation comprised startups and government officials in the relevant sectors.
The team formed part of Nigeria’s participants anchored by the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, led by its Director General, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, and the management of the Agency.
Agromate Nigeria, Houseboy Africa, and IQ-League are the startups whose chief executives, Agbo Andrew Abu, Atu Myom, and Ogbole Idu Michael are participating to make presentations about their innovative creations.
The exhibition is accompanied by a trade session of investors and stakeholders in the ICT and economic sectors.
Commissioner of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Tersoo Kpelai, Special Adviser, Media and ICT, Mr Tahav Agerzua, and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, Mr Jeff Udende, who doubles as a startup coach, are part of the team.
Agromate is an agriculture-specific online integrated platform with the focus to add value to farmers and consumers as well as the economy of the state.
The company stimulates the development of an open, collaborative, and prosperous e-commerce services to provide information about Nigerian farmers and agriculture business professionals.
IQ-League is a digital platform where schools and their students compete by taking online quiz and other competitions at the end of which winners at various stages meet at the champions’ level.
Houseboy Africa aims to be the largest household service provider in Africa bringing services such as grocery delivery, pick up laundries, car wash services, gardening and house cleaning to millions of homes.
NITDA has also sponsored another start up by a Benue indigene, Kasua, initiated by Tersoo Jilaji, which links farmers and markets to be part of the event.
