Governor Samuel Ortom yesterday laid foundation for the construction of a Medical Centre in Nyumangbagh Community, Mbaduku, Vandeikya Local Government area of the state.
Performing the ceremony, Governor Ortom acknowledged members of the Community for embarking on a laudable project that could complement the efforts of his administration especially in primary healthcare.
He said the major road linking Nyumangbagh community and electricity projects had been captured in this year's budget with work on them set to commence as soon as implementation of the budget gets underway.
Governor Ortom reassured the people of Vandeikya of his administration's readiness to do more good things for them including the Medical Centre in the area.
Speaking earlier, the President General of Mbaduku Development Association and Board Chairman, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Retired Major General Jonathan India Garba, told the Governor that the Health Centre would be built through communal efforts to provide primary health services to their people.
He thanked the Governor for having special interest in Vandeikya Local Government Area and prayed to God to grant his administration success.
On his part, the Chairman of Nyumangbagh Development Association, Professor Gowon Doki, thanked the Governor for laying the foundation for the Medical Centre and reminded him of the promise he made to contruct the road in the community and to provide electricity.
Professor Doki appreciated the Governor for finding some Nyumangbagh people worthy of appointment in his government and urged him to continue with the good work.
