Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has directed all political appointees in the State to team up with local government chairmen and hold town hall meetings in their respective localities across the State.
Council chairmen are to host the meetings.
The Governor directed the appointees to take advantage of the Independence Anniversary public holiday to hold the meetings.
Stakeholders that have been invited to the meetings include members of the State Executive Council, Heads of statutory agencies and members of the State House of Assembly who are members of the All Progressives Congress.
In accordance with the Governor’s directive, other invitees are traditional, religious and community leaders, members of the various labour unions as well as civil society organizations.
The agenda of the meetings will include the impending strike action by government workers, the challenge of salary payment in the State as well as a general briefing on the performance of the Samuel Ortom administration from inception.
A publication on the issues mentioned has been printed and shall be circulated during the stakeholders meetings which would be held simultaneously in all the local government headquarters across the State on Monday, 2nd October, 2017.
