Mrs. Justina Yator Sorkaa was born on 5th August 1972 at Tyulen in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
She had early education at LGEA Primary School, Tyulen, 1976 – 1982 where she obtained the First School Leaving Certificate.
Mrs. Sorkaa attended Queen of the Rosary Secondary School Gboko, 1982 – 1987 and thereafter proceeded to the Institute of Mass Communication and Technology, Jos in 1990 where in 1992 she obtained the National Diploma in Mass Communication.
She enrolled at the Benue State University, Makurdi in 1997 and graduated with a B.Sc Political Science in 2001 as well as a Master’s Degree in the same field in 2007; and is currently pursuing a PhD program at the same institution.
Mrs. Sorkaa worked as an Artiste Presenter with Radio Benue from 1994 – 1997 and in 1998 became Junior Announcer with the station before she moved to the Benue State University where she was one time Examination Assistant in the Department of Political Science.
She has many publications to her credit and belongs to several associations including the Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), National Association of Women Academics (NAWACs), among others.
She has special interest in building human relationships and bridges, making peace and serving humanity, reaching out to the grassroots as well as guidance and counseling.
Mrs. Sorkaa likes swimming, reading and research as well as watching political documentary in her spare time.
