He proceeded to Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Naka, 1981-1986 where he bagged the General Certificate of Education, GCE, ordinary level, after which he attended the School of Basic Studies, Makurdi and obtained the Interim Joint Matriculation Board, IJMB, Certificate in 1989.
He thereafter gained admission into the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and read Political Science between 1989 and1992, graduating with BSc.
Mr. Zam proceeded on the compulsory youth service between 1993 and 1994 after which he returned to school and bagged MSc, Political Science with specialization in Public Administration, at the Benue State University, from 2002 to 2004.
He was employed in the Benue State Civil Service in 1994 and rose within the ranks to become Senior Administrative Officer. He resigned voluntarily in March 2003.
That same year, he was appointed Transition Committee Chairman for Gwer-West Local Government Council and was subsequently elected Chairman of the same council where he served from 2004 to 2005. He was elected General Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Benue State Chapter in 2004.
In January 2014, he was appointed Director of Publicity for the All Progressive Congress, APC, Benue State Chapter and later State Organizing Secretary of the party, a position he held until his appointment as Special Adviser.
Mr. Zam attended several workshops and conferences and is a recipient of several awards including Best Performing Local Government Chairman in the Health Sector awarded by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Benue State Council.
He is also a Distinguished Alumni, ABU Zaria, by Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Naka Old Students Association.
Married with children, he enjoys reading and Badminton.
