Dr. Idoko later proceeded to the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma, PGD, in Farm Management and Extension. In 2002, he obtained a Master in Public Administration, MPA, from the Benue State University.
He worked in the education sector and rose to the rank of Principal Education Officer, 1990 to 1997 when he retired and went into politics. That same year he was elected into the Benue State House of Assembly on the ticket of the United Nigeria Congress Party, UNCP, during the aborted General Abacha transition program.
He later joined the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and was a member of the party’s caucus and later decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, where he was also became a caucus member.
Dr. Idoko had been Director of several business concerns including Progress Extra Mural Studies, Progress Computer Model School and Progress Continuing Education Centre, all in Makurdi.
He has also held several positions of responsibility, some of which include both Secretary General and President General, Aidogodo Development Community. From 2010 to 2013, he was member of the Governing Council of the College, of Education, Oju.
A recipient of an Honorary Doctorate degree in Educational Management and Planning from the Pacific Western University, Denver, USA, Dr. Idoko loves Table Tennis and Football.
