Mr. Adakole Abutu was born on 7th March, 1962 at Emichi – Agadagba, Ohimini Local Government Area.
He had primary education at RCM Transferred School, Ohugbane – Agadagba, 1968 – 1974, where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to the Federal School of Arts and Science Aba, 1989 -1990, for the General Certificate of Education ‘A’ Level. Thereafter, he read for the Bachelor of Laws, LLB Hons, Degree at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1992 – 1998. Between 1999 and 2000 he was at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000.
He started work as a Private Legal Practitioner with A.A Oche and Co., Otukpo, 2001 – 2003; and later joined P.A. Omengala & Co., Otukpo, 2003 – 2004 and Oache, Adakole & Co., Otukpo, 2005 to 2016.
Mr. Abutu was also a part-time lecturer at Benue State University, Otukpo study centre, 2006- 2010 and Benue State Polytechnic, Otukpo study centre, 2007 to date.
He was Secretary to Ohimini Local Government Council, 2015 – 2016.
Mr. Abutu has participated in several seminars and workshops organized by the Benue State Ministry of Justice in Conjunction with the UK Department for International Development, DFID. He has been inducted into the Benue Corps of Mediators and is also a Certified Mediator.
He has also held many positions of responsibility. These include Caretaker Chairman, Benue State Law Students Association, BENLAWSA, Zaria Chapter, 1997 – 1998; Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Otukpo Branch, 2007 – 2000; Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Otukpo Branch, 2010 – 2012; NEC Representative, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Otukpo Branch, 2012 – 2014 and Member, NBA Disciplinary Committee for Northen Nigeria, 2013 to date.
Mr. Abutu is also a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria in 2015.
A married man, he enjoys travelling, farming and adventure.
