He had his early education at L.E.A Primary School, Aliade between 1963 and 1969 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
Thereafter, he proceeded to the famous Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School Makurdi, where he was between1971 and 1975, and obtained the West African Schools Examination (Division II).
Mr. Ujege then proceeded to the Ahmadu Bello University College of Agriculture, Bakura in Sokoto State from 1976 to 1977 where he came out with Ordinary National Diploma (Irrigation Agronomy). Not done yet, he again enrolled in the same institution in 1979, graduating with a Higher National Diploma in Irrigation Agronomy in 1980.
In his quest for further education, Mr. Ujege attended Tuskegee University, Alabama USA from 1982 to 1983 and obtained a B.Sc in Agribusiness. He went back to the same institution in 1983 to enroll for a Masters in Education (M.Ed Agribusiness Education) which he obtained in 1984.
He started his working career at the College of Agriculture, Bakura, Sokoto State and Tuskegee University Alabama, USA, from 1975 to 1984 where he worked variously as Agricultural Superintendent Officer in Training (In-service).
During his compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), 1984/85 service year, he worked as class teacher at the Agricultural Training Centre, Mbatie.
Thereafter, he was engaged by the Ministry of Agriculture Makurdi where he worked as Principal Agricultural Superintendent II (Planning) from 1985 to 1986.
He switched over to the Benue Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (BNARDA), a World Bank assisted project to Benue State where he worked as Chief Human Resources Development Officer between 1993 and 1995. That same year, returned to Ministry of Agriculture, Makurdi 1995 and worked as Deputy Director, Human Resources Development.
Mr. Ujege is a recipient of several awards and honours which he obtained in the course of his duties. They include, Certificate of a Professional Teacher conferred on him as a member of the National Education Association of America (NEAA) on 12th May, 1984; Honour Roll Status (Distinguished Scholastic Achievement), by Tuskegee University, Alabama, USA on 20th November, 1983. He also acquired special skills as well as attended various courses including a course on Components of an Agricultural Development by Federal Agricultural Coordinating Unit on 26th March, 1986; Training of Trainers by ARMTI Ilorin on 26th June 1987; and Training of Trainers for Agricultural Development by Department of Agriculture, USA on 13th September, 1991.
In his political experience, Mr. Ujege was appointed Special Assistant to former Governor of Benue State Senator George Akume in 2006 and 2007.
He contested for the Konshisha State Constituency in the 2015 general elections under the All Progressive Congress (APC) and came out victorious and was sworn-in as member, Benue State House of Assembly on the 5th June, 2015.
Mr. Ujege who is married to Josephine M. Ujege enjoys jogging and watching sports.
