He had primary school education at NKST Primary School Apir, 1968-1973 where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to NKST Teachers College, Mkar, 1973-1977 and obtained the Teachers’ Certificate, TC II, certificate. In 1978, he attended College of Education, Katsina-Ala and obtained the National Certificate in Education, NCE in 1981. He did undergraduate studies at Ahmadu Bello University, 1985-1988 and graduated with a BSc in Physical and Health Education. Professor Uever proceeded to the University of Ibadan in 1990 where he graduated in 1991 with MEd (Recreation). He bagged a PhD from ABU in Sports Management in 2007.
He was class teacher, All Saints Primary School, 1977, Coach, Benue State Sports Council, Makurdi, 1977-1983; lecturer, College of Education Katsina/Ala, 1983-1992; Director of Sports, Benue State, 1995-1998. He was lecturer at the Benue State University, Makurdi, at the time of his appointment as Special Adviser.
As member, Mbasombo Development Association, Elder, NKST Asen, Nyiman Layout, Makurdi, Chairman, Volleyball, Nigerian Universities Games, NUGA, Professor Uever has contributed to community development activities including the provision of materials for the bridge project leading to Tse-Aduku, Adagba.
He is a member of the Nigeria Association of Physical Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance; American Association of Physical, Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance; Nigeria Association of Professional Educators; Nigeria Association of Sports Science and Medicine; and Nigeria University Games Association.
He won several awards, some of which are; Best Behaved Student at Graduation- Mkar T.C 1977, Best Sportsman of the Year and Best Graduating Student in Mathematics.
Prof Uever has travelled to Zimbabwe, South Africa, Egypt and Benin Republic.
His awards include best behaved student at graduation at Mkar Teachers College, best sportsman of the year at the same event at the school as well as best Mathematics graduating student.
He loves gardening, listening to music and reading novels.
