Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia Saturday , August 24, 2024 received in courtesy the Benue State APC Caretaker Committee.

Speaking during the event which took place at the Old Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, Governor Alia expressed delight for the home coming of members of the committee, congratulated them and charged them to work diligently for the unity and progress of APC in Benue State.

Recall that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recently inaugurated a caretaker committee led by Hon. Benjamin Omale to manage the affairs of the party in Benue State.

Governor Alia, who is the Leader of APC in Benue State thanked the National Working Committee for setting up a committee to step in and solve the problem the party was facing in the state.

He thanked all the caretaker committee members for accepting to serve the state in their respective capacities, expressing confidence that their coming would bring unity to Benue APC and put smiles on the faces of all members of the party in the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Benjamin Omale

thanked Governor Alia for taking his time to receive them.

He said it was incumbent on the committee to visit the Governor who is the Leader of APC in Benue State, pay their homage, and pledge their determination to work for the good of the party in the State and the nation at large.

The new committee include:

1. Hon. Benjamin Omale (Chairman)

2. Prof. Bem Angwe ( Secretary)

3. Richard Mzungweve

4. James Ornguga

5. Barr. Terhemen Ngbea

6. Helen Agaigbe

7. Barr. Ali Francis Adah

Later on the sidelines, Governor Alia thanked the Federal Government through the Inspector General of Police for ensuring the safe release of the medical students who were abducted some few days back while passing through Benue to attend a conference in the east.

The Governor also appreciated the Benue State Commissioner of Police and his team, the army, the operation Zende, the Joint Task Force, Volunteer Guards, and the local vigilante for their doggedness and contribution in combating crime in the state.
