The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), on Friday, October 11th, 2024, won the GovTech Public Service Award, in the Category of the Best State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in ICT integration.
The award was presented to the Benue SUBEB Chairman, Dr. Grace Adagba, at the event tagged “Digital Innovations as a catalyst for the Renewed Hope Agenda,” put together by the Bureau for Public Service Reforms, in Abuja, on Friday.
The Benue State Universal Education Board, won the award in recognition of the outstanding Digital initiatives undertaken at the Board under the Alia led government, significantly contributing to President Tinubu’s Digital Transformation agenda in Public Service.
Recall that under the Alia led administration, several digital initiatives such as the verification and implementation of a centralized and automated payroll system, comprehensive audit of the staff of the Board, introduction of Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Teachers’ recruitment (the first of its kind in the State) to ensure transparency and fairness in the process, have been undertaken at the Board.
Dr. Adagba, was equally honoured with the ‘Distinguished GovTech Trailblazers Award’, for exceptionally discharging her duties as the SUBEB Boss.
Receiving the news, the elated Governor Alia, described the awards as a clear indication that the attention his administration has given to a once collapsed Educational Sector in the state, is already producing positive results.
While congratulating the Benue SUBEB Boss and the entire Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management for the feat, Governor Alia further assured the entire people of Benue, that the positive results of the reforms initiated by his administration, will be felt in all the sectors of the state.
